Happy Hour: DIY Neon Rope Cuff
Friday, Friday we gotta get down on Friday! Sorry, but I had to. In a effort give you guys more DIY content (It’s my way of saying ‘Thank You’ for 2 years of DIY fun), I’ll be hosting a DIY Happy Hour every other Friday. Just one more project and a few more pretty pictures before the work week is over. I promise it’ll be an easy project you can tackle over the weekend just in time to wear to the office come Monday morning.
I’m currently obsessing over anything neon. This project was inspired by Noir Jewelry’s use of neon rope and the jeweled decadence that Erickson Beamon always delivers. Enjoy!
Materials: Neon Rope, Cuffs, Glue
DIY TIP: For those cuffs with fancy designs simply add a piece of neon duct tape to the back. This will help when applying the glue.
Add a dab of glue to the back of your cuff to anchor the rope. Start wrapping! The trick to creating a great wrap is to pull tight and make sure there is no space left between the rope.
You can wrap vertically as I did with the purple rope or you can wrap horizontally like I did with the pink. If you want your rope to lay horizontally it’s easier to pre-cut your rope into pieces and apply them directly to your cuff with glue. Remember to apply glue to any loose ends to prevent the rope from fraying.
I embellished my cuff by snipping off an earring post and gluing the earring directly to the rope. You can use a brooch, jewels, a pendant or whatever piece of bling you wish!
Or maybe you’d rather have a multi-colored cuff. Simply change the color of your rope by trying a knot to the end of a different color. You can add as many colors as you wish. Just be sure the knot is hidden underneath the cuff so it won’t show when you wear it. The possibilities are endless!
And there you have it! A little DIY inspiration to kick off the weekend. Now if you’ll excuse me, my neon rope cuffs and I are out the door. Happy hour doesn’t last forever.
Have a safe and happy weekend everyone! xoxo
