21 Smart Makeup Tips for a Perfect Look

It can take years to get to know your face shape, what colors suit you, how much to apply and how to apply makeup so that it looks beautiful and natural.

Once you have the knowledge, you will see how much makeup can accentuate your best features and hide those that are not as favorable. Here are some makeup tips and tricks that you wish you had known a long time ago!

1. Use a plastic spoon

Use a plastic spoon to easily apply mascara on your lower lashes without getting anything on the skin under the eyes. It also helps you achieve a much thicker coverage.

2. Blush for your face type

To apply blush where it is most flattering on you, first determine your face shape. Blush not only adds color, but also contours and defines your cheekbones. How you apply your blush can emphasize your best features and also soften those that may be too prominent.

3. Stencil tape

This unconventional beauty aid will help you when applying eyeliner and shadows, especially if you want a more daring look like “cat’s eye”. It also helps you get an even and balanced look for both eyes. Apply tape to the skin where you want clear and sharp lines.

4. Under the eyes

Most of us tend to just wrap a layer of concealer all over the eye area, but to really hide bags under the eyes, it’s best to mark the crease and then apply a darker shade to the really puffy area.

5. Highlights eyes

Placement of highlights is very important when trying to create naturally beautiful eye makeup. Your lighter colors (whites, creams and pearls) should be applied to the inner corners, in the middle of the eye and just below the brow bone. First use your lightest colors and move on to your darker shades. Just make sure to mix!

6. Mascara

The problem with mascara is that it can dry out and then begin to form unattractive lumps. To prevent this, do not pump your mascara upside down in the package. When you pump in the package, you bring air into the tube and make it dry out even faster.

Although mascara should be replaced every three to four months, it usually lasts longer and does not dry out as quickly. If it dries out, there is a good solution. Add a drop or two of eye drops to the tube and then rub the brush inside. The liquid softens the mascara, which means that it is applied as if it were brand new.

7.Lips

Use a toothbrush to exfoliate your lips and get rid of flake skin that is only accentuated by lipstick. To really get the job done, you can do a homemade lip exfoliation with sugar, honey and coconut oil, or more easily but not as effectively, cover your lips in lip balm or Vaseline before scrubbing.

8. Eye shape

As important as your color choices is the placement of your shadows – you can create almost any illusion you want! With careful placement, you can make your eyes look exactly the way you want. Decide what kind of eyes you have and accentuate them accordingly.

9. Make your eyes bigger

Instead of lining your waterline with dark eyeliner, use a pencil in natural color pencil to create the illusion of a larger eye. A white liner also works well if you are fair-skinned.

10.Eye shadow

Have you ever bought a vibrant eye shadow color that, once applied, seems pretty dull? The key to making these colors stand out is a white base. Use a white eyeliner and cover the entire lid before applying the color of your choice.

11. Eyelids

Get the most out of your curler by clamping to the very base of your lashes and then lifting the curl to an inverted position. This creates double lids and lasts much longer!

12. Bend the lashes

Hold a hair dryer next to your curler for about 3-5 seconds. The heat works in the same way as with the curling iron, which gives you curved lashes that will last all day. Too much heat, too often is not healthy for hair, so be a little careful.

13. Matching

This is one thing that, no matter how well applied, if it’s the wrong color, it’s going to look awful! We all fear that our foundation will give us a ghost face or worse, the dreaded orange jaw line. Since your neck is not exposed to the sun as much as your face, it is much better for matching your true color.

14. Mascara application

When applying mascara, hold a business card behind your lashes and apply it in a back and forth motion from the roots. You can really get it this way by covering each lash quickly while avoiding the dreaded mascara on your perfectly applied eye shadow.

15. Forehead lift

Use a light pink matte pencil over the entire length of the forehead bone to create the illusion of a higher arch, and then mix, mix, mix! It should not be visible.

16. Eyeliner

Eyeliners can sometimes begin to deviate from where it was placed, especially during the summer months. Some eyeliners are more likely to do this, especially those who are not waterproof but many do not like waterproof makeup as it is so difficult to get off.

To keep the lining in behavior, wrap loose or pressed powder just under the eyeliner on the bottom lid. It creates something of a barrier, which prevents your eyeliner from traveling downwards.

17. Lips

As it turns out, we were not all blessed with Angelina Jolie’s lush lips. Now there are some tricks to make them look bigger. For a more dramatic effect, do not be afraid to stick your lips just outside your natural line. When we say just outside your natural line, I only mean something. You do not want to look like a clown by doing so!

18. Makeup application

Even if you want to wash your face and apply your moisturizer with pull upwards to reduce fine lines and a flabby face, the opposite is true for foundation and powder. Most of us have some facial hair, and it tends to grow downward. Applying your makeup with upward strokes will cause your facial hair to stick and make it more noticeable.

19. Eyes & face shape

Many of us ignore our eyebrows and do not realize how important they are to define our face. There is no one shape that is best, it really just depends on your unique facial features and shape. Like contours, your eyebrow shape and thickness can help soften the face shape.

20. DIY colored moisture sensor

This works just as well as a B&B cream, hides imperfections with a really natural look; Just mix your favorite facial moisturizer with a little concealer. This way, you can customize it with just the right amount of coverage.

21. Immediate eye lift

This quick and easy illusion gives you an instant eye lift. Draw an arc directly above the eyebrow with your favorite marker and mix with your finger. This makes your arch look elevated, giving the illusion that the entire eye area has been lifted.
