Transform Your Home: Tips For Creating a Cosy Living Space In Your Conservatory

Turning your conservatory into a comfortable living space that you can use all year round is one of the best things you can do. Many people think conservatories are a lost cause because it is difficult to be in there when it is the right temperature. During summer, it can be too hot and during winter, it can be too cold. This is where you will need to make some adjustments to make your conservatory a comfortable and cosy room.

Insulation and Roof Tiling

There are many things you can do to your observatory but if you want to make it a room that you can use all year round, insulation is your solution. Conservatory insulation is just like normal insulation for your roof in your home. It is designed to last a long period and help to reduce heat loss.

There are two ways you can go about your insulation. You can either buy insulation foil yourself and install it or you can get a professional service to do it for you. CI Group is a company that has spent years of research into their insulation foil, helping to design a premium insulation that can be used for your conservatory.

Insulation for your conservatory is the modern solution to transform your conservatory and turn it into a room you can use all year round and is the first step to transforming it into a cosy room.

Paint or Wallpaper

The next part of transforming your conservatory is to plaster your walls and then either use paint or wallpaper to decorate. If you want unique patterns for your conservatory then wallpaper is the better choice however, if you want something simpler, painting them will be much better. Plus, you can paint them basic colours so it is easier to choose the furniture for the room.

Seating

The next step is choosing the seating for your conservatory. If you are transforming your conservatory into a dining room, you don’t need to worry about this. However, if you are designing a room you want to relax in throughout the day, the seats matter the most.

Decide whether you want a television in this room or whether you want it to be a technology-free zone. If you choose to have a screen in there, we recommend choosing a corner sofa that can squeeze your whole family on. Make sure it is made of fabric instead of leather as leather can be very uncomfortable to sit on if the sun has been on it throughout the day.

Sofa or rocking chairs are also great additions to your conservatory, especially if you want it to be a quiet room where you can enjoy reading or knitting with no blue lights distracting you.

Lighting

Choosing your lighting in your conservatory can be quite difficult however, it all depends on what you do with your conservatory roof. Once your insulation has been installed and you have a tiled roof, you may have chosen to have a skylight. If you have a skylight, choosing a hanging light in the middle of your conservatory roof may won’t be a good idea. Instead, choose spotlights which you can use in your conservatory roof but make sure these are LED so they are energy efficient. Furthermore, ensure they are dimmable so you can control the lighting much better.

Standing lamps are another way to add light to the sections of your conservatory where there isn’t enough light. These can help with the design of your room as well and, if you have a reading chair, placing a standing lamp next to it will help you to see your boom better.

Summary

There are many different things you can do to your conservatory however, conservatory insulation must be prioritised. Once you have this installed, you will notice that the temperature is much more comfortable all year round. Then you can choose the wallpaper/ paint in your room for the design. Whether you want to transform it into a thriving sunroom or keep it simple by creating a dining room, you have many possibilities with your design.
